Emma McIntosh
Background: Ecology, natural resources management, science policy challenges and program design for multidisciplinary monitoring projects.
Relevant experiences: Currently undertaking a systematic map and am exploring means to improve the efficiency of locating studies, screening and data extraction.
Interests: My perspective as a PhD student and with experience in projects with short time frames leads me to see benefits in faster, cheaper and more accessible methods for SM and SR. The current CEE gold standard is very labour intensive and time consuming, which reduces its attractiveness to policy makers and other users who potentially stand to benefit greatly from this rigorous approach.
Projects: As part of our ongoing systematic map, I have been trialing web scraping software, and testing a wide range of systematic review management software packages, as well as associated machine learning approaches to assist with screening and data extraction
